Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering in Your Community

Since inauguration, the Center has organized over 1100 hours of volunteer service by sponsoring more than 20 events and volunteer opportunities that have connected Penn State Brandywine students, faculty, and staff with our community partners. By engaging with those around us, we can begin to build the capacity of our communities through learning and implementation. Volunteering is always an effective way to establish new connections, obtain knowledge on local and national issues, and acquire the inspiration needed to enforce change.

Current Opportunities

Campus Food Pantry

We welcome student volunteers at the Campus Food Pantry, located at the Center for Social Impact on the 1st floor of Vairo Library.

Surrey Senior Center

Volunteering at Surrey Senior Center gives students the ability to interact with local seniors by organizing fun games and engagement activities at Surrey’s location in Media. The Surrey Senior Center is dedicated to helping older adults live with independence and dignity, and to continue as engaged members of the community.

This program provides a great opportunity for multigenerational contact between students and elderly citizens of the community. In the past, students have organized quizzo events, bingo games, arts and crafts, as well as cultural dance performances from the Chinese Student Association during the Chinese new year period.
